This course is suitable for candidates aged 14+ who might need to provide first aid to people who are injured or become ill at work. This course gives candidates the knowledge, understanding and confidence to recognise accidents that may occur in the workplace and how to deal with them effectively.

  • The aims of first aid are to Preserve Life, Prevent Worsening and Promote Recovery.
  • Learners will gain knowledge in: roles and responsibilities of a first aider, assessing incidents, managing unresponsive casualty, CPR & defibrillation, recovery position, chocking, seizures, shock, wounds & bleeding and also minor injuries. This course also goes into more depth and includes trauma, extremes of body temperature, fractures and other serious conditions.

The three day course runs from 09:30am until 17:00pm each day, with a dinner break between the morning and afternoon session. We recommend that you bring your own dinner as not all venues have food sites nearby. We can allow a maximum of 12 candidates on a course at one time, this ensures that the candidates get the most effective learning experience possible. At the start of the course each candidate will receive a training pack, this includes a workbook, bandages and more. You will learn both theoretically and practically leading to a multiple choice exam at the end of both day one and three. On successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate which is valid for three years.
